Premalu, the Girish AD directorial which features young actors Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, has witnessed a massive growth at the box office on its second day of release.
Premalu, the romantic comedy features young actors Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, hit the big screens on February 9, 2024. The movie, which is helmed by Thanneer Mathan Dinangal fame director Girish AD, has now emerged as the surprise hit of the season. Despite dealing with a famililar premise, the project has created a great impact among the audiences, thanks to its well-crafted humour and notable performances.
As reported earlier, Premalu made a decent opening at the box office, by making an opening collection of around Rs. 1 crore. However, the love story has witnessed a massive growth on its second day and has already touched Rs. 3 crore mark.
According to recent reports, Premalu has witnessed an incredible audience rush on the second day of its release, thanks to rave reviews, excellent word-of-mouth publicity, and wide extra shows, especially in both Kerala and UAE. Thus, the Naslen-Mamitha starrer has also delivered a better performance on Day 2 at the worldwide box office and surpassed its opening day collection. The movie has made a total collection of over Rs 2 crore on Day 2. So, it has been confirmed that Premalu has touched Rs 3 crore mark, within the first two days of its release.
Now, it is also safe to assume that the Naslen-Mamitha Baiju-starrer might cross the Rs 5 crore mark at the box office, just when it completes the first weekend of its release. The first Sunday at the theatres is looking very promising for the Girish AD directorial, as the audience rush has increased further. It is a major achievement for the movie, which stars young actors in lead roles, and was made with a budget of around Rs 8 crore. If the movie continues its good run, Premalu has all the chances to emerge as a blockbuster at the box office.
Naslen appears in the role of Sachin, while Mamitha Baiju plays his lady love Reenu in the movie. The project features Sangeeth Prathap, Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, Althaf Salim, Mathew Thomas, and others in the supporting roles. Premalu is jointly bankrolled by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran, under the banners Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Bhavana Studios.
