Fans of the Bollywood daredevil, Akshay Kumar, will have to wait longer as the release of his highly awaited film, Prithviraj gets postponed. Kumar took to social media to announce the new release date of the historical drama. The film, which also features the debut of Manushi Chillar, is written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

The actor shared a new poster, announcing the new release date to be June 3, 2022. He wrote on his Instagram post, "Elated to announce that Samrat #Prithviraj Chauhan’s grand saga is arriving sooner on the big screen on 3rd June in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.”

The film has been experiencing several snags in its release. Earlier, the makers had announced that it would release on January 21 in theatres and later, it was postponed to April 1. The film, which is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, is now scheduled to be out in theatres on June 3. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. 

The makers had released the teaser and character posters earlier, introducing Kumar as the prominent historical figure, Prithviraj Chauhan. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in vital roles.

Meanwhile, Kumar has several projects lined up. He is gearing up for the releases of Bachchan Paandey, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, OMG 2 and Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan.
