The Premam filmmaker was earlier set to work with Fahadh and Nayanthara for Paattu
Premam filmmaker Alphonse Puthren’s directorial Paattu, which has Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara as leads, has reportedly been delayed and the director is now apparently in talks with Prithviraj for a project.
A source told Pinkvilla that Alphonse, who has not helmed any film after Premam, has pitched a story to Prithviraj after his much-anticipated film with Fahadh has been delayed due to the pandemic.
The upcoming project could go on floors this year itself, according to the source, who added that Prithviraj and Alphonse had several meetings in the past few months regarding the movie.
Paattu, which was based on music, had Alphonse even learning the basics of music. The director-scriptwriter also turned composer for the movie and the film’s tracks were also recorded earlier this year, with Neeraj Madhav being one of the singers.
The film, which was announced last year, was supposed to go on floors by mid 2021 but the pandemic has shifted several projects of its lead actors Fahadh and Nayanthara. The source had added that the movie could now go on floors only in 2022. Fahadh will next join the shoot of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram which also has Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi.
Prithviraj, meanwhile, is busy with his own directorial Bro Daddy, which has Mohanlal and himself in the lead. The movie, which is a feel-good family entertainer, also has Kalyani Priyadarshan, Meena, Kaniha, Murali Gopy and Soubin Shahir as part of its cast.
The actor, who was last seen in Cold Case, is also part of Dijo Jose Antony’s Jana Gana Mana, Manu Warrier’s Kuruthi and Rathish Ambat’s Theerppu.
