Prithviraj Sukumaran is ‘mind blown’ by Yash’s KGF 2, says Prashanth Neel has set a whole new standard

Prithviraj Sukumaran is not new to big budget ‘mass’ action entertainers. In fact, the actor made his directorial debut a few years ago with such a movie in Mohanlal’s Lucifer. The actor recently lauded the team of Yash’s much-anticipated KGF: Chapter 2, which he will be distributing in Kerala under his banner Prithviraj Productions.

Replying to a tweet by KGF 2’s producer Vijay Kiragandur, Prithviraj said that he was looking forward to the association with their company Hombale Films. The actor also added that he was hugely impressed by what he has seen on Yash’s sequel to the 2018 Kannada blockbuster and that director Prashanth Neel “has set a whole new standard” with the movie.

Earlier last year, Prithviraj took to social media to announce that he will be collaborating with Hombale Films to distribute the movie as well as admit that he was a huge fan of the franchise. He also said that the production company was the first to reach out to him after Lucifer’s release to discuss the possibility of an association.

KGF 2, which will continue the story of its hero Rocky, also stars Sanjay Dutt as its antagonist Adheera, Raveenda Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty and Prakash Raj. The movie is currently slated to hit theatres on April 14.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj has just completed shooting for a ‘mass’ action-entertainer titled Kaduva himself. The movie, set in the 90s, also has Vivek Oberoi and is directed by Shaji Kailas. The film is set to be an Eid release.

The actor on Tuesday had also shared an update on his upcoming projects – Gold, Jana Gana Mana and Kaduva – tweeting that he has finished shooting for all of these and they will reach the audience in the coming months. He is now set to take a break before resuming shooting for Blessy’s Aadujeevitham in Algeria.
