The makers of Priyan Ottathilanu didn’t wait too long to reveal the big surprise cameo in their film, which hit theatres on June 24. The Antony Sony directorial, which has Sharafudheen, Nyla Usha and Aparna Das in the lead, also has Mammootty in a special appearance and the team took to their social media accounts on Saturday to reveal a poster of the megastar from the feel-good movie.

The poster had Mammootty reading a newspaper, which is from a pivotal scene in the movie. The movie revolves around a do-gooder named Priyadarshan, who often prioritises others needs over his. On a crucial day in his life, which also involves meeting with Mammootty at the sets of his film, Priyadarshan has to complete a set of tasks – some planned and some totally unexpected. Will he be able to prioritise these well and still make it to the meeting form the plot of the film, which has Sharafudheen in his first ever lead role.

The film, which is scripted by K Abhayakumar and Anil Kurian, also shows that Priyadarshan is an aspiring scriptwriter. After a debutant director and a producer, who is a die-hard fan of Mammootty, manages to get time to narrate Priyadarshan’s script to the megastar, they wait on the latter to arrive on time as the actor will leave to Dubai the next day. This keeps the audience on their toes in the second half of the movie, where Priyadarshan has to navigate a set of unexpected hurdles.

Director Antony, who had previously helmed Manju Warrier and Shane Nigam-starrer C/o Saira Bhanu, took to his social networking page to thank Mammootty for supporting “a small film” like Priyan Ottathilanu.

Mammootty, meanwhile, returned to Kochi on Saturday after completing the shooting of Agent. He is next set to leave for Dubai to wrap up Nissam Basheer’s Rorschach, which is expected to hit theatres during Onam.
