Priyanka Chopra Jonas' Citadel: No official greenlight for Season 2 yet. Here's why!

In the action series Citadel, Priyanka Chopra portray the title character Mira along with Richard Madden. The two actors take on the roles of two elite spies who are currently blending in with everyday life while working for the global covert agency Citadel.

If speculations are to be believed, Priyanka Chopra Jonas' highly anticipated series Citadel may not receive a renewal for a second season. 

Amazon Studios' Citadel reportedly cost $300 million to produce, according to a recent Forbes story. According to reports, the show has attracted more than 25 million views since its launch, making it the biggest debut on the platform. According to the same report, Priyanka Chopra, who has a huge international fan following, is the subject of most of the talk surrounding the show. 

The Hollywood Reporter stated that Citadel has already been renewed for a second season before the show had made its debut. Nobody confirmed reports that the sitcom would get a second season. Citadel season 2 suspicions were addressed by the show's executive producer in a recent interview with Cinema Blend.  

Executive producer David Weil responded to rumours that the show had already been given a second season renewal by saying, "We're not officially greenlit for a second season." He continued, “However, what I can say is that, you know, the Citadel universe is robust, and there are so many threads by the end of the season that would be very thrilling to pick up in a second season and hopefully beyond.” 

Based on this remark, it may be inferred that the makers of the show had thought about producing a second season even though one is not currently in the works.
