Project K: Nag Ashwin officially confirms tieup with Mahindra group for Prabhas, Deepika Padukone's sci-fi tale

Mahanati director Nag Ashwin has embarked on what's set to be the most monumental project in his career to date, Project K. The sci-fi film brings together a dream star cast comprising Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles. Tentatively titled Project K, the film is being made on a budget over Rs 400 crore and it revolves around a futuristic theme with necessary emotional context. Project K is expected to have a time-travel dimension in the story and is rumoured to be based on automobiles, a pet subject for the director.

Earlier this month, the filmmaker made a plea to Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra group on exploring a possible tieup with the firm. Claiming that the film is being made on a huge scale, he shared that an association with Mahindra group for the filmmaking would be of immense help to the team. Anand Mahindra, responding immediately to his tweet, replied that he would do everything in his capacity to further the collaboration. Well, the man has stayed true to his word. 

Confirming the tieup with the Mahindra Group, Nag Ashwin recently shared, "What a beautiful campus, where nature meets cutting edge tech...a fruitful start to our journey with @Velu_Mahindra and team..thank you so much @anandmahindra sir. This promises to be v exciting.🙏 #mahindraresearchvalley #projectk." In response, Velu, Chief of Global Product Development, Mahindra group wrote, "It was indeed a great meeting with Nag Ashwin. A humble man with so much of creativity !. A journey of Art and Science joining hands together !. @anandmahindra @nagashwin7."

This didn't stop at that and Anand Mahindra himself lavished immense praise on the team behind Project K. He tweeted, "Well @nagashwin7 I have to admit you have got me as excited now about this blockbuster sci fi film you’re creating. I have a hunch you’re going to beat Hollywood hollow…" Project K may release in summer 2023, after Prabhas' other outings Adipurush, Salaar hits theatres. The film has cinematography by Dani Sanchez Lopez and music by Mickey J Meyer.
