Everything for the team behind Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Pushpa The Rise is going as per plan. The Sukumar directorial may have received mixed responses among critics, but the verdict from audiences is unanimous - it's a blockbuster. The film is setting the box office on fire across all languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada - and is performing well across all circuits, national and international. As per an official announcement by the producers Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni, Pushpa The Rise has grossed a mammoth Rs 173 crore worldwide in its opening weekend.
In the US, the film has collected over $1.6 million, while it also made it to the top 10 Australian films in the first weekend, garnering A$326,467 at the sixth position. With the Nizam region too, Pushpa The Rise registered an impressive total of Rs 26 crores just under three days. In Hyderabad at the theatres in RTC Cross Roads region alone, the film grossed nearly Rs 1 crore. The Hindi version of the pan-Indian release, despite minimal promotions, earned the makers Rs 12 crore.
During their media interaction today, when the producers were asked if the collections were showing any signs of slowing down on Monday, Naveen Yerneni said, "Just to get a sense of how the film is performing on a weekday, we had called our Nellore distributor, who said that all the shows today are housefull already. There's very little doubt that Pushpa The Rise is a blockbuster, audiences have absolutely loved it to bits." Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music for the film cinematographed by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek and edited by Karthika Srinivas respectively.
The shoot for the second part, Pushpa The Rule, will commence in March 2022. A couple of new actors are expected to join the team for the sequel. The story will now largely focus on the conflict between red sandalwood baron Pushpa and the cop Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
