The actor, who made his filmmaking debut with the film, has been garnering praise for his tackling of Nambi Narayanan’s intriguing story. Madhavan recently opened up about how he admired Clint Eastwood and Amitabh Bachchan for their influential roles in the film industry.

In conversation with Tribune India, Madhavan spoke of how Eastwood and Bachchan were two people he followed ‘earnestly’. On Eastwood, Madhavan spoke of how he admired the fact that even in his 90s, the actor-filmmaker was continuing to make the kind of films he’d wanted to do. Madhavan was impressed by the way Eastwood managed to ‘break rules’ as a filmmaker, earning Academy Awards in the process as well. The Hollywood filmmaker has four Academy Awards to his name, winning the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director for his films Unforgiven (1992) and Million Dollar Baby (2004).
