Ali Fazal's new crime thriller Raakh announced | Series to release in 2026

Ali Fazal, popularly known for his Guddu Bhaiya role in Mirzapur, is all set to be seen in a new crime thriller series, Raakh. This investigative crime thriller, which has been announced, delves into the psychological complexities of morality and justice. On August 18, the makers dropped the OTT release details for Raakh. 

Raakh officially announced

Ali Fazal will be seen in a cop role in the upcoming crime thriller series, Raakh. The makers announced that it will be released on Prime Video in 2026. The series will be available on OTTplay Premium for the existing users. 

They also shared the first poster, where Ali can be seen in a cop outfit with a car in the background, and the atmosphere of the surroundings is quite chilling. They captioned the post: "JUSTICE will rise from the ashes #RaakhOnPrime, New Original Series, Coming 2026."

Ali Fazal is set to headline Prime Video‘s upcoming Indian investigative crime thriller Raakh, alongside Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir (Tiger 3). The series, produced by EndemolShine India and Gulbadan Talkies, will be executive produced and directed by Prosit Roy (Paatal Lok), with Anusha Nandakumar (Singham Again) and Sandeep Saket (Indian Police Force) as creators, writers, and co-directors. Ayush Trivedi is handling the dialogue for the project.

In a statement, director Prosit Roy said that as filmmakers and storytellers, they are drawn to narratives that not only entertain but also challenge perspectives and ignite meaningful conversations. 

He also said that Raakh is a deeply immersive world that pushes boundaries while exploring the complex layers of human nature. Anusha and Sandeep have crafted a narrative that delves into the grey areas of morality, justice, and redemption, all while keeping viewers thoroughly engaged.

Meanwhile, Ali Fazal was recently seen in Anurag Basu's Metro...In Dino. The film also stars Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sensharam, Pankaj Tripathi, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta.

Apart from this, Fazal also has Mirzapur The Film, which is a film adaptation of the popular series, Mirzapur. It is also slated to be released in 2026. The actor also has Rakht Bramhand in the pipeline.
