Raghu Kunche joins Amazon Prime Video’s Dhootha, calls Naga Chaitanya ‘an amazing soul’

Singer, composer Raghu Kunche’s career took an unexpected turn when he accidentally landed a role in Karuna Kumar’s rural actioner Palasa 1978 a couple of years ago. He has been extremely busy as an actor ever since, playing roles in films like Crazy Uncles, Guduputani, Kshana Kshanam and Bomma Blockbuster. Now, the actor-musician has grabbed his first major web project.

The Devudu Chesina Manushulu composer confirmed that he had joined the shoot of director Vikram K Kumar’s Dhootha yesterday. Produced by Sharrath Marar under North Star Entertainments for Amazon Prime Video, the show stars bigwigs like Naga Chaitanya, Parvathy, Prachi Desai apart from Tharun Bhascker and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

On his social media handle, Raghu Kunche posted, “#Dootha ….Shoot Day.. I am immensely happy to be a part of this prestigious Amazon series and also playing a very good character. Thank you ‘ Vicky Dada ‘ for choosing me this exciting project. And ‘ Chay ‘ you are an amazing soul Man ..I am glad that i am working with you.” For someone who’s largely been a part of small/medium budget films as an actor, Dhootha is a big leap for Raghu Kunche.

Will Raghu Kunche be playing a negative role again in Dhootha? Seems more likely, owing to the fact that Dhootha is a dark story revolving around inanimate objects teaching a lesson to wrongdoers in the society. Raghu Kunche was also in the news recently for a single titled ‘I am a celebrity.’ The show will release around August or September. An official confirmation is awaited.
