Ahead of its Diwali release, the makers of Vikram Prabhu starrer Raid have dropped a new trailer of the film. Helmed by debutant filmmaker Karthi, the upcoming crime thriller, which features Sri Divya as the female lead, is slated to be released on November 10. Raid will be competing with Jigarthanda Double X and Japan at the box office.

Vikram Prabhu’s character in Raid is a cop, who is also a goon

The trailer of Raid kicks off with a series of gruesome murders in the city. One of the characters peg Vikram’s role as part of ‘them’, highlighting the contrast - while goons kill for money, he carries out murders as a cop. The initial clip of the trailer appears promising, but the first cut’s dialogues seem a bit clichéd and lacking depth. The actors’ performances show potential, but the audiences may have to wait for its release to know more. Overall, the trailer unveils an action-packed cut of the film and appears to have all elements of a complete commercial movie, replete with romance, stunts and emotions.

Raid’s plot, cast and crew

Helmed by debutant director Karthi, Raid is a crime thriller film. Vikram plays the role of a police officer, who is transferred to a new town, where he is forced to deal with a powerful gang led by a ruthless gangster. The police officer is determined to put an end to the gangster’s reign of terror and restore peace in town.

The film has Vikram Prabhu, Sri Divya and Ananthika playing the lead roles. Its dialogues are penned by director Muthaiya, who has previously worked with Vikram in Pulikuthi Pandi. The film is bankrolled by SK Kanishk and GK Manikannan. Sam CS has composed music for the movie. Its cinematography is done by Kathiravan and editing by Manimaran.
