The series’ title and first glimpse were unveiled today at an event held by the streaming giant.

Shahid Kapoor’s highly anticipated debut web series has finally got a name. The series, helmed by Raj and DK, is titled Farzi. The news was announced today at an event in Mumbai, held by Amazon Prime Video, called ‘See Where it Takes You’.
The streaming giant also announced the series’ title on their official social media handles, along with a glimpse of the show, featuring Shahid. The post’s caption featured a synopsis for the series that reads, “A small-time artist working out of his grandfather’s printing press has designed the ultimate con job - a crime uniquely suited to him - and gets pulled into the murky, high stakes world of all that it demands. A fiery, unorthodox task force officer has made it his mission to rid the country of the menace this poses in this fast-paced, edgy one-of-a-kind thriller.”

The event, hosted by Karan Johar, also unveiled a short, action-packed glimpse of the upcoming series. With high-speed chases and face-offs, the show seems to make good on its promise of an edge-of-the-seat thriller.
Along with Shahid, the series also features Vijay Sethupathi, Raashi Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Regina Cassandra, Zakir Hussain, Bhuvan Arora, Amol Palekar and Kubbra Sait in pivotal roles. Raj and DK, popular for helming The Family Man, have created and directed the series. They have also penned the show’s script along with Suman Kumar and Sita R Menon. The series is produced under the banner of D2R Films.
At the event held today, the streaming giant also announced its new slate of OTT films and shows, which consists of almost 41 titles to be released this year.
