Ram Madhvani's Aarya 3 is in the works; Sushmita Sen is eager to begin shooting

Sushmita Sen starrer Aarya is gearing up for its third season. The crime-drama series marks the comeback of the Bollywood diva in acting after 5 years of break. Release in 2021 on Disney+ Hotstar, Aarya 2 gathered immense praise and appreciation across the world. The Ram Madhvani directorial also has Sikandar Kher, Ankur Bhatia and Vikas Kumar in pivotal roles. 

According to a report on Pinkvilla, the filmmaker and his team are currently working on the script of the third instalment and are set to take the drama and the thrill of the story up a notch. "Aarya is an extremely important project for him, and he doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned for the third part. As of now, they are hoping to start filming by the year-end,” a source closer to the development informed the portal. 

Meanwhile, in an earlier chat with the news portal, Sushmita had expressed her excitement for Aarya 3. She also informed Pinkvilla that according to an interview by Ram Madhvani, the third instalment depends on how the audiences respond to Aarya season 2 and how much love it gathers. "I was like, ‘Please jaldi jaldi pyaar bhejo. Mujhe third season shoot karna hai.’ I love Aarya. I think it's a story that needs to be told in its entirety," said Sushmita.

Adapted from the Dutch drama series Penoza, the Hotstar original Hindi series has Sushmita in the titular role. It follows the story of a one-woman army, who rise to the occasion and goes back to her early life as a gangster to avenge her husband's death and to keep her children safe.

Meanwhile, Ram Madhvani's last venture was the Kartik Aaryan starrer Dhamaka, which also stars Mrunal Thakur and Amruta Subhash in major roles. The thriller flick, which also has Vikas Kumar and Vishwajeet Pradhan in important roles, is available to stream on Netflix.
