Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, ran into legal trouble earlier this month. Allu Mantena Media Ventures LLP, which originally owned the intellectual property rights, had been negotiating with Prime Focus Technologies Limited to transfer ownership. But nothing materialised because of incomplete payment. While people assumed that this disagreement would affect the film's shoot, the real scenario is different.

Ramayana shoot update!

The aforementioned matter hasn't affected Nitesh Tiwari and the production team as they remain determined to bring the epic mythological saga to the big screen. "It has been business as usual for [everyone on set]. We have been working relentlessly every day. There is no scope for stalling as bulk dates have been taken from the cast and crew," a source informed Mid-Day.

Although there's uncertainty around the film's financing and production logistics, the team's collaborative spirit is intact. "South actors Sai and Yash are committed until May-end," a source added. It has been reported that the Ramayana team will shoot a crucial portion in the Film City next week, where most of the star cast will be present.

Who plays what in Ramayana?

Meanwhile, it's confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the role of Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi is essaying the character of Goddess Sita. Yash, on the other hand, will be seen as Ravan. As far as Arun Govil is concerned, the senior actor will essay the part of King Dasharath. Lara Dutta has come on board to portray the character of Kaikeyi.

Buzz is that popular television actor Ravi Dubey will be seen playing the role of Laxman in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. However, there's no confirmation from the makers yet. The first part of the Ramayana trilogy is expected to be released in 2025.
