Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt REVEAL daughter's name

The wait around the name of Bollywood superstars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's newborn baby girl is finally over. On Thursday evening, Alia Bhatt took to her social media handles to reveal the name of her little one.

Attaching a heartwarming photograph to her social media post, Alia explained the meaning of the name in detail. The picture shows the child's name written on a Manchester United jersey, which is said to be the favourite football team of papa Ranbir, and the couple is holding the baby. Though the face of the baby is blurred, we feel all the love in that one frame. 

The name Raha has been chosen by her paternal grandmother Neetu Kapoor. According to Alia, as she explained in her post, the meaning of the work Raha is the divine path.

She also explained the meaning of the name Raha in different languages. For instance, Raha in Sanskrit means a clan and in 'Swahili she is Joy'. In the Bengali language, The meaning of Raha is - rest, comfort, and relief. In Arabic, it means happiness, freedom and bliss.

Then the new mother expressed her love for her newborn as she wrote, "And true to her name, from the first moment we held her - we felt it. Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun."

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married on April 14, 2022, and the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on November 6 of this year. The baby was born at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai.

Raha Kapoor is the granddaughter of Neetu Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor and also the great-granddaughter of the first man of Indian cinema, Raj Kapoor.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt will be seen opposite Ranveer Singh in her next film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, and Ranbir Kapoor is currently shooting for the film titled Animal and a picture from the sets of the film was leaked and has since been floating around on the internet.
