Producer Dil Raju is all set to foray into Tamil cinema with Varisu, a family entertainer headlined by Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the film is set to hit screens for Sankranti 2023 across three languages - Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. The Telugu version of the film is titled Vaarasudu and the first single from it, Ranjithame, was launched today.

Ranjithame’s Tamil version, sung by Vijay himself, struck a chord with film buffs immediately upon release and it looks like the result will be no different for the Telugu one either. MM Manasi has crooned for the Tamil and Telugu versions while Anurag Kulkarni has stepped into the shoes of Vijay for the latter. Renowned lyricist Ramajogaiah Sastry has penned the Telugu number.

Singer Anurag Kulkarni’s versatility is one of the major reasons why he’s become a force to reckon with and Ranjithame proves the same yet again. Thanks to S Thaman’s irresistible musical hook, Ramajogaiah’s catchy lyrics and Anurag’s energetic rendition, the song, which has a celebratory vibe, ensures a spring in your step almost instantly. Manasi’s credentials need no introduction either.

“Bondumalle chendoo thechaa, Bhogaapuram sentoo thechaa, Kallakemo kaatuka thecha, vaddanamnee nadumukichaa..,” the song takes off and there’s no looking back - it just grows on you so well. Vijay’s impressive moves, Rashmika’s effervescence contribute to the impact of the number. This is Thaman’s first film with Vijay and he’s pulling all the stops to deliver a memorable album to his fans.

Dil Raju, Shirish, Param V Potluri and Pearl V Potluri are jointly producing the film under Sri Venkateswara Creations and PVP Cinema. Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha and Samyuktha form the supporting cast of the film. Hari and Ashishor Solomon have written the story. Karthick Palani and KL Praveen are the cinematographer and the editor respectively.
