With the September 28 weekend getting overcrowded with releases in Tamil, Vijay Antony's Ratham team has now decided to postpone its release. The film, directed by CS Amudhan, has Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha and Mahima Nambiar in the lead.

New release date announced
The crime thriller will now hit screens on October 6, along with Trisha's revenge thriller, The Road, which is helmed by Arun Vaseegaran. Taking to his social media handle, Ratham producer B Dhananjayan wrote, "Friends, our #Raththam Team was totally prepared for 28th September release & brought out a specially shot promo video too with release date. As you know, the situation changed. Our film deserves the spotlight & audience attention. Hence we decided to move to *6th October* as the release date. Looking for your support (sic)."

September 28, a packed week for Tamil cinema
A slew of releases including Jayam Ravi's Iraivan, Siddharth's Chiththa,  Harish Kalyan's Parking and Raghava Lawrence's Chandramukhi 2 , are slated to hit screens on the date. The films are expected to cash in on October 2nd holiday. Hence, speculations were that one of the films will drop out of the race.

Star cast and technical crew
Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha and Mahima Nambiar play the leading ladies. The supporting cast includes Nizhalgal Ravi, Jagan, John Mahendran, Mahesh and Kalai Rani. While Kannan has scored the music, cinematography is by Gopi Amarnath and editing by Suresh. Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed the stunt sequences. The film is bankrolled by Kamal Bohra, Lalitha Dhananjayan, B Pradeep and Pankaj Bohra of Infiniti Film Ventures.

Ratham to release as Doshi in Telugu
The crime drama is all set to release in Telugu as well, in the title Doshi.  The plot is said to revolve around an unusual crime that has never occurred in the history of mankind, according to the film's director CS Amudhan, who is exploring the genre for the first time.
