It's official! Vijay Antony's crime thriller Ratham is all set to hit screens on September 28. The makers today made the official annoucnement on their social media handle, along with a funny video featuring Vijay Antony and one of the film's producers G Dhananjayan.

Update on release date and teaser

In the video, Vijay Antony, who seems to be on a walk, is accompanied bywho elaborates on the plans for the film, be it the teaser, trailer, audio launch and the film's release date. He also talks about how he plans to invite the stalwarts of the industry to watch the film. That's when Vijay Antony says that when it comes to stalwarts, CS Amudhan (the film's director) also needs to be included. Once he finishes off the list, Dhananjayan feigns chest pain and is seen being treated by a nurse.

Cast and crew
The film has three leading ladies- Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha and Mahima Nambiar. The supporting cast includes Nizhalgal Ravi, Jagan, John Mahendran, Mahesh and Kalai Rani. Music for the film is by Kannan, cinematography by Gopi Amarnath and editing by Suresh. Stunt sequences have been choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan. The film is bankrolled by Kamal Bohra, Lalitha Dhananjayan, B Pradeep and Pankaj Bohra of Infiniti Film Ventures.

Film to release as Doshi in Telugu
The film, which is billed as a crime drama is all set to release in Telugu as well, in the title Doshi. Director CS Amudhan had earlier stated that Doshi is a crime drama revolving around an unusual crime that has never occurred in the history of mankind.

CS Amudhan takes the path less trodden
For the uninitiated, CS Amudhan shot to fame with Tamizh Padam, which is known for its spoof-based films. He also made a sequel later titled Tamizh Padam 2. His sophomore movie Rendavathu Padam which was completed many years ago is lying in the backburner.
