After the entire fiasco at the DCU (formerly DCEU), where his return with Man of Steel 2 and Henry Cavill as Superman was scrapped, Zack Snyder channeled all that energy into creating a brand-new IP he was crafting for Netflix. The filmmaker had been at it for years, and when Netflix finally gave the green light, he could translate that on-paper idea into a franchise. Moreover, he was provided with resources sufficient to shoot the first two films together, making them the most expensive Netflix movies to date. Yes, we are talking about the Rebel Moon franchise. So far, we have seen two films from the franchise released, namely Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire and Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver.
Both films are now streaming on Netflix and have had a very buzz-worthy reception, even though the reviews are not entirely positive. Is Rebel Moon 3 Happening?
When Zack Snyder was talking about the future of the Rebel Moon franchise and the possibility of Rebel Moon 3, he mentioned he would like to make six movies in the series. This comment came as a wave of joy for fans who thought there were four more films coming. But it turns out that work on the third installment hasn't begun yet, and even the actors are not sure whether it is happening. Sofia Boutella, who plays Kora in the franchise, spoke on the matter.

According to CBR, when asked about whether she has discussed Rebel Moon 3 with Zack Snyder, Sofia Boutella quickly said, "No, not yet. But it would be amazing if they could go and find Princess Issa. That's what we say at the end of movie number two, and it would be quite fun to go back on set with Zack because we all love being part of this project so much." However, almost everyone assumed that the third part was already confirmed and that Netflix had already begun work on the same. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
Sofia Boutella also spoke about taking the story of Rebel Moon forward on television. "Why not? I'll have to read. Depending on if Netflix does it, if it's Zack who does it. I'm not closed off to working and being creative, and especially to taking back on board a character like Kora; who knows, maybe," she said.
