During a Saturday In-Conversation session at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, Akshay Kumar disclosed that he is now filming a feature with the goal of releasing it in the spring of 2019. The film's subject is sex education.

The actor told Deadline that it's a really significant topic and that he is absent in several locations. Sex education is one of the many things they study in school, and he wishes it were taught in all of the world's educational institutions. It's going to be April or May before it comes out, he said, adding that it's one of the best movies he has ever made.

Akshay has supported social issue films in the past, like the groundbreaking 2018 film Padman and the 2017 drama Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which were both about the taboo subject of menstruation and the lack of access to sanitary products in India. In the second movie, the main character is a man whose wife threatens to leave him if he doesn't put in a toilet.

The actor revealed that he enjoys making these kinds of social films. Although it hasn't been a huge monetary success, the movie makes him happy. After seeing the film Padman, one of Akshay's friends told him that his relationship with his daughter had changed. The daughter has been so open since they watched this movie together that she now calls him and says things like, "Dad, I started my period. Can you get a sanitary pack for me on the way home from the office?"

Over the course of his 30-year career, the actor and producer has acted in more than 150 feature films, including blockbusters like the comedy Phir Hera Pheri from 2006, the crime thriller Sooryavanshi from more recent years, the space exploration drama Mission Mangal, and the in vitro fertilisation sperm mix-up comedy Good Newwz.

Along with his passion projects like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman, according to Akshay, he also cherished his work in mainstream cinema. He replied that he continues to do comedies and dance movies. He likes making these movies. These are crucial to one's career as well, and they must be carried out.

Akshay is one of many Bollywood celebrities flying into Jeddah, a port city in Saudi Arabia, for the second Red Sea Film Festival, which runs from December 1 to 10.
