Actress Reese Witherspoon’s son Deacon Phillipe, 20, currently pursues music at NYU, and lives in West Village, sharing a place with two roommates. However, recently the talented actor cum aspiring music producer has come under scrutiny, as he opened his home for a first glimpse to the public.

Known for showing the interiors of different strangers’ homes, Tiktoker Caleb Simpson recently posted a video, tagging and featuring the Never Have I Ever actor. When asked, how much he pays for his apartment at the beginning of the video, Deacon modestly answers, “West Village prices, man.”

As he warmly welcomes Caleb and the camera into his humble home, viewers are treated to a well-kept, two-storied apartment. As the door opens, one is greeted by bare-brick walls and vinyl records, as well as plush, mismatched leather sofas. But the show stealer is the spiral, black staircase, that rises and connects the center of the living room with the upper floor.

As Deacon and his roommates joke around being a student, their kitchen makes one sigh, it is both relatable yet perfect. The modernistic, white kitchen is soothing to the eyes, with its sparse ‘student’ rations, while its pristine condition makes one bite their thumb.

However, Deacon’s bedroom and bathroom give the perfect NYC vibe, even more than his living room. A white, minimalistic room with a mini-studio setup- his keyboard, several books and a few paintings. The bathroom, on the other hand, barely qualifies, with its door barely grazing past the sink to fit in an indulgent glass shower, a commode, some shelves, and a classy sink.

The video, fun and lighthearted, incurred the wrath of several fans who were offended by Deacon ‘posing’ as a normal student, claiming his parents are the only source of income and identity for him. One commented, “Ummm this is Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe’s son. Please don’t try to paint him like a normal college student.”

Another wrote,”lol why not just stay “my famous parents Reese and Ryan pay my rent,”” while a third penned, “I want to be a nepo baby.” However, all were not so equally critical, and several came to his rescue. “He’s adorable, the apartment is cool, don’t be a hater,” one fan wrote.

A second one noted, “2 other roommates, might not be a typical apartment but he is living like a typical college student.... some goddamn haters in these comments.” While a third supported, “He seems really nice and down to earth. People need to quit being so bitter.”
