Resident Evil 2 protagonists Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield are back together in Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. This CGI-animated series, which is set to premiere on Netflix on July 8, recently released its first full trailer.
The trailer reveals that Kennedy and Redfield will be attempting to save the world by uncovering the secret behind a new zombie outbreak. The duo suspects this outbreak to be part of a larger conspiracy. While Leon battles these zombies, Claire focuses on peeling the layers of this conspiracy. Full of zombie-killing action, this Netflix original anime series is going to expand the Resident Evil universe.
Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will premiere on Netflix on July 8. The franchise has had a rather busy year, with Resident Evil: Village releasing earlier this month and the live-action movie Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City set to premiere in September this year.
Prior to an official announcement, Netflix Portugal accidentally tweeted a teaser trailer on Twitter for the series, calling it a “CGI movie.” This tweet was deleted instantly but fans had already gotten wind of what was to come. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness was officially announced at the 2020 Tokyo Game Show event that was held virtually.
Capcom’s massive franchise of zombie survival horror games celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Set in 2006, the upcoming series has been animated by Quebco.
