From Sushant Singh Rajput to naagin dance at Byculla jail, 5 revelations made by Rhea Chakraborty at a recent event

After making her debut with ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’, Rhea Chakraborty went onto do films like ‘Sonali Cable’, ‘Bank Chor’, ‘Jalebi’ and others. Life hit a rough patch for the actress when her actor- boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput untimely passed away. She was not just hounded by many media personnel, but also got trolled on social media. In her recent interaction at the during the session titled 'Rising from the Ashes and Finding Herself at the ‘India Today Conclave 2023’, actress Rhea Chakraborty spoke her heart out wherein she touched upon many topics, including her interactions with the late Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea Chakraborty likes the name ‘chudail’?
The actress said that she kind of liked the name ‘chudail’, as she found that was interesting. She also drove home her point by giving the explanation that a witch was a woman who refused to subscribe to the patriarchal society or had her own way and that she had her own opinion and thoughts. She added that, maybe, she was that person or a chudail or someone who knows how to do black magic.

While addressing the topic on drugs amidst the then-allegation that she had supplied drugs to the late Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea said that she was done with the topic and that she didn’t want to talk about drugs, the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau), the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation). She added that, let the agencies do their jobs and likewise. She added that she would rather talk about her mental health and the journey traversed by her to sit on the chair there!

The actress recalled that she was devastated the day when she had got bail but her brother had not. She said that day she broke down completely and had promised all the girls (women inmates) that she would dance the day she gets bail. But, despite getting bail, she was not happy and that’s why she refused to dance (as promised), to which even the jailor had agreed to. But, just as when she was leaving the jail, she had second thoughts of refusing to dance as she thought that, since she would never be seeing these women again and nothing wrong in giving them five minutes of happiness with her dance performance. This, then, led to them doing the ‘naagin’ dance on the floor, which Rhea terms as the highest point of her life to date.

Rhea termed THIS as her personal loss
When asked about getting closure on the case, the actress said that she did not think that closure was the right word as the thing that she had faced was a personal loss, for which there could never be a closure. She added that the whole thing had changed her perspective.

Amongst the other things, Rhea Chakraborty (jokingly) said that, when it comes to the topic of harbouring, she will have to ask Pablo Escobar, who was no longer amongst us. She said that, its only her life that was being affected and that she had lawyers who are fighting it in the court of law. She added that they would get a verdict at the right time and that she would accept whatever verdict the court gave her in this case or anybody’s case, because she is an Indian citizen.
