Popular radio jockey turned actress and social activitivist Malishka Mendonsa is gearing up for her new short film titled Parde Mein Rehne Do. The film is directed by Heena D’Souza and written by Garima Pura Patiyaalvi and Pranjali Dubey.

The story of the film deals with the issues of body shaming and how the existing toxicity around it physically and emotionally affects people, especially young girls.

The narrative revolves around Anjali, a young woman who, after getting out of an emotionally draining marriage, gets introduced to the world of online dating by a friend. But another set of challenges and insecurity is waiting for her as she begins to write a new chapter of her life.

Talking about acting in the upcoming short film, Malishka said, "Creating a short film is an extremely challenging process as you have to engage the audience in a short span of time. But, because of the impeccable writing, my character in Parde Mein Rehne Do’ intrigued me, while instilling confidence that we will be able to convey our message very clearly."

The popular Radio Jockey also said that she was well aware of the importance of bringing out a story on toxic body shaming that affects the self-worth of youngsters many times.

She mentioned, "It is crucial that a streaming service like Amazon miniTV, which is so highly accessible through its Mini Movie Festival, brings out content that has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of people."

Malishka is known for raising her voice against wrongdoings in society including lending support and being compassionate towards LGBTQ+ community, complaining against BMC in Mumbai for the pothole and water log during the monsoon in Mumbai and many such relevant issues.

Earlier she appeared in the Bollywood film Tumhari Sulu and shared screen space with National award-winning actress Vidya Balan.

The short film Parde Mein Rehne Do will release on September 22 on Amazon miniTV.
