Rocketry: R. Madhavan reveals the best compliment he received for the Nambi Narayanan biopic

R. Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect hit theatres around the country today, and is receiving a lot of love. The actor, who has also directed and produced the movie, has now revealed the best compliment he received for the biopic. 

“My son Vedaant is not very demonstrative about his feelings. When he saw the film he said, ‘Dad, can I get my friends to see it?’ He wants kids of his generation to know about Nambi Sir. To me that is the film’s biggest achievement,” Madhavan told Bollywood Hungama. 

Madhavan also said that being able to spend time with Nambi Narayanan was the biggest takeaway from making the movie and that he has learnt a lot about rocket science and life from the former ISRO scientist. 

Written, produced, directed and starring R. Madhavan, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is based on the life of the scientist, who was accused of espionage and later, exonerated by the court. 

While Madhavan essays the role of Narayanan, the movie also reunites the actor with Simran. Rajit Kapur, Ravi Raghavendra, Misha Ghoshal, Misha Ghoshal, Gulshan Grover and Dinesh Prabhakar also feature in the movie, which has Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya appear in cameo roles. 

“The film succeeds in showcasing the struggles faced by Nambi Narayanan to a decent extent. The movie could have worked wonders had the technical aspects and screenplay been tightened,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay. 

Rocketry premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, where it received a standing ovation from the crowd. The movie, which is made in Tamil, Hindi and English, also has been dubbed in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. Rocketry is now available in theatres near you.
