RRR: Jr NTR opens up about working with Ram Charan on SS Rajamouli directorial

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, RRR, is counting down the days to its release. Jr NTR, who stars in the film opposite Ram Charan, recently opened up about what it was like working with the Tollywood heavyweight on sets.

In conversation with IANS, the actor revealed how the atmosphere on the sets were at times very ‘intense’ and how he used to get completely lost in his character. He emphasised how important it was to have breaks in between, where he and Charan could let loose and share a few laughs.

Jr NTR also talked about how the upcoming film was a step into bringing back the old culture of a film featuring two main stars. He said that even though viewers would initially go into watching the film as fans of either himself or Charan, they would definitely soon forget their fandom rivalry and come together to appreciate the movie.

The actor also talked about the experience of working with Rajamouli over the course of several years, and said that he could really see the director’s work evolving on a massive scale. Regarding the upcoming film, Jr NTR reiterated the director’s words that the movie’s story is completely fictional, although the two heroes are real life Indian revolutionaries-Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Charan plays Raju while Jr NTR essays the role of Bheem. In addition to the two, the film also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani and Shriya Saran.

RRR will be released in theatres on January 7, 2022, in multiple languages. After its theatrical run, the film will be available to stream on the platforms of Netflix and ZEE5, although a release date for the same is yet to be announced.
