Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is back on the big screen, and the movie's Box Office collection on opening day is only a fair number. The film has earned just above Rs. 10 crore on day 1. RS Prasanna, who directed Aamir in the movie, had his piece to share about the Box Office of the movie. Here's what the filmmaker said...
Sitaare Zameen Par, expected to open at Rs. 10-11 crore during the advance booking, had a Box Office opening of Rs. 10.7 crore, according to Sacnilk. RS Prasanna, who helmed Aamir Khan's Bollywood comeback film, spoke to Dainik Jagran about the Box Office collection and said, "There was magic happening. I remember all of us in Chennai, strangers otherwise, suddenly got united by a movie and started weeping together. That is the only magic that I know, the magic of emotional resonance, which cannot be quantified, can it?" The filmmaker added that being a romantic, he cannot quantify the experience of watching a movie together in cinemas.
The weekend would prove huge for Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, for the movie needs to show tremendous growth over the next two days if it wishes to cross Rs. 100 crore club at the Box Office. The number at which the Box Office grows will go on to prove how the movie is faring in theatres. For now, though, the movie has taken a decent start but could definitely do better.
Reportedly made under Rs. 100 crore (Rs. 90 crore budget), Aamir Khan's movie is likely to be a hit, if not superhit or blockbuster, once it crosses Rs. 100 crore mark. Given the history of films at the Box Office (and this being a superstar's comeback), Sitaare Zameen Par is sure to enter Rs. 100 crore club at one point and thus, the movie could be considered a hit at this point. But, of course, it is a little too early to declare the movie a hit already and thus, we would have to wait for the next few days to understand where the film is heading.
