Will Aamir Khan's comeback film Sitaare Zameen Par end up being a Box Office debacle like Salman Khan's Sikandar?

Aamir Khan has finally made his Bollywood comeback with Sitaare Zameen Par, but it looks like the movie still has a long way to go. Despite fairly good reviews from critics, the film struggles at the Box Office on opening day, for it could manage a reasonable opening for Aamir and not a grand one, despite the film being his comeback in the industry. It can, in fact, be noted that the movie is going the way of Salman Khan's Sikandar.
Sitaare Zameen Par's opening day Box Office can be tagged average at best. Like predicted, the movie has opened just above Rs. 10 crore. According to Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs. 10.7 crore on day 1 Friday. This is just how much Salman Khan’s Sikandar had earned on opening day Sunday, but can we say that Sitaare Zameen Par is the next Sikandar just yet? Find out.

It is too early to predict whether Sitaare Zameen Par, which is the Hindi adaptation of Champions (inspired from the Spanish film Campeones) will become the next Sikandar, mainly because Aamir promises Sitaare Zameen Par is an exclusive theatrical release and might not even be out on OTT. This is expected to pull theatre-goers back to the medium of watching films and thus, a lot is riding on the weekend collections of Sitaare Zameen Par.
Given the current Box Office trend and a superstar's name being attached to the film, Sitaare Zameen Par is most likely to cross Rs. 100 crore mark. However, the real benchmark, like with Sikandar, would be crossing Rs. 200 crore net. Whether Sitaare Zameen Par can cross that benchmark is something that remains to be seen.
