Saiyami Kher takes inspiration from Nargis for Anurag Kashyap's black & white flick

There's something special about stars from the past and their unmistakable charm. Leading females from the current crop will explain how they have honoured these movie idols in their own unique ways. Saiyami Kher, the most recent actor to do so, based her appearance in her as-yet-untitled film on the late Nargis Dutt. It's interesting that the Anurag Kashyap film, in which she stars opposite Gulshan Devaiah, is being shot in black and white, giving it an antique feel.

Speaking about the same, a source told Mid Day that the creators wanted something classy and exquisite for Saiyami's appearance. The styling crew had Meena Kumari, Madhubala, and Nutan's on-screen personas as references for weeks. Nargis' appearance in Lajwanti (1958), which had a girl-next-door vibe, was the closest to their vision. In the movie, Saiyami sports plain cotton sarees and completes her look with braided hair and a bindi.

For Kher, experiencing the drama's trip through history is enjoyable. The actor is thrilled to don outfits that are modeled after the late artist. She is currently filming for the project in Hyderabad.

Kher claims that merely being compared to Nargis Dutt is the highest accolade she has ever received. In terms of acting, attractiveness, and elegance, she was ideal. The actor adored the majority of her films, her favourites being Shree 420 (1955), Aag (1948), and Mother India (1957). She has often pondered what it was like to live at that time. Kher enjoys black-and-white films, so making this black-and-white film is a dream come true for her.

Earlier, while talking about the film, the actor said that it's a fascinating project that people will remember for a very long time. Gulshan is a fantastic actor who is very inventive and adaptable. They collaborated on Unpaused Season 1, and Kher felt at ease working with him. The actor couldn't reveal more about the project, but she assured people that the wait would be worthwhile.
