The recent reports of Prabhas playing a double role in Salaar have indeed charmed the fans who are now more eager than ever to watch this mega saga unfold on the big screen. While there isn't any official confirmation from the makers yet regarding this, reports have suggested that the Adipurush actor will not feature in any ordinary double role but be seen playing his own nemesis in the film!
Should there be any truth to these rumors, Prabhas' dual role will feature him playing brothers who are temperamentally different from one another, aside from their physical contrasts. Prabhas' weight and physique have been fodder for media speculations in the recent past with many agencies suggesting that director Neel has been unhappy with the former's look, thus wanting to even break the shooting schedule to allow him to get back in shape. However, one might assess the "double role" speculation to put things in perspective, considering the time and effort that would go into portraying two characters of stark polarity. And to make this a lot more exciting, Salaar will feature a major face-off between Prabhas' dual roles.
Reports also reveal that Prabhas has already completed shooting for one of the two roles and has even shed close to 22 kilos for the second one. And yet, this wouldn't be the first time that the actor is donning the dual avatar for S.S. Rajamouli's two-part epic Baahubali saw him play both the father and the son. While things were left at that and the films did not feature the two characters sharing any screen space, it would seem that Prashanth Neel has gone a notch up with his vision and rendered a rather unique world for his magnum opus.
Salaar has been produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films and Shruti Haasan plays the female lead in the film. Prithviraj Sukumaran will be playing a key role in the film and veteran actor Jagapathi Babu will be seen as Rajamanaar whose first look in the film reveals an intense character.
