The film industry woke up to shocking news today of singer, writer, and producer Pamela Chopra's death.

Pamela Chopra, wife of the late Yash Chopra, mother of Yash Raj Film's (YRF) Aditya Chopra and actor Uday Chopra, and mother-in-law of Rani Mukerji, was in the hospital for 15 days before breathing her last this morning. She was 85 years old.

Salman Khan has been preparing for the release of his next film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which will hit theatres tomorrow (April 21). The premiere of the film, which many from the film industry were to attend, was slated to take place at YRF Studios tonight.

In view of Pamela Chopra's death, the premiere has been cancelled.

Salman shares a close tie with the Chopra family. He has also starred in YRF films like Sultan, Tiger 3, and Pathaan.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, directed by Farhad Samji, also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Bhumika Chawla, Jagapathi Babu, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar, and Vijender Singh.

It releases in theatres on April 21.
