Samantha receives a birthday surprise during 'fake scene' from Vijay Deverakonda, Shiva Nirvana on the sets of VD11

The Mahanati pair Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha are reuniting for another love story directed by Ninnu Kori, Tuck Jagadish filmmaker Shiva Nirvana. Tentatively titled VD11, the film also stars Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna in key roles. Leading producers in the Telugu Industry, Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, are bankrolling the film under Mythri Movie Makers. The project was formally launched in Hyderabad and went on floors recently.

The first schedule of VD11 is currently progressing in Kashmir where key scenes between Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha are being shot. The team that was filming a sequence in the night in Kashmir decided to surprise the lead actress Samantha at the stroke of midnight. Vijay Deverakonda, earlier in the day, tweeted a video where a sequence is purposely being filmed to surprise the actress. He wrote in the post, "Happy Birthday Samantha. Wishing you full happiness. Let’s make a love story now :) Love and hugs, Vijay."

In the video shared by the team, during a fake rehearsal, Samantha is seen narrating a serious, intense dialogue about their relationship, while Vijay Deverakonda blufs for a few seconds before he decides to surprise her and shout, 'Happy birthday Samantha' and gives her a tight hug. There's a celebratory mood on set and Samantha is obviously overjoyed with the gesture. Vijay Deverakonda and the unit had planned this 'fake scene' well in advance and looks like it was executed as per plan.

While VD11 is Samantha's second film with Shiva Nirvana after Majili, it's the first collaboration between the director and Vijay Deverakonda. Mythri Movie Makers had already produced Dear Comrade with Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the past. VD11 is expected to release in the first half of 2023 and will very likely be dubbed in multiple languages, given the fan following the lead pair has across the country.
