On May 31, Samrat Prithviraj team filmmaker Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi and the starring duo Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar paid their respects at the famous Somnath Temple. They visited the temple to appreciate Prithviraj Chauhan's spirit of courage and devotion in defending India's freedom. They paid tribute to the valiant warrior, who also is India's last Hindu emperor, while holding his flag.

“Somnath Temple is embedded in the microcosm of Hinduism in India and is of remarkable significance as it was plundered for generations by merciless invaders of our country,” said the film director Dwivedi in his statement. He further added that they brought Samrat Prithviraj’s flag to the temple to seek blessings for their film at the ancient temple. “Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan was the last Hindu Samrat who stood up to protect Bharatmata’s freedom and dignity from invaders and plunderers. We have made this film to salute his glorious spirit,” he added.

The three also attended the Varanasi Ganga Puja. Dwivedi went on to say that they are in an "incredible moment" since they are bringing King Prithviraj to life through their film.

Samrat Prithviraj is based on the life of the heroic king Prithviraj Chauhan and stars Akshay Kumar in the title role. In this spectacular exhibition, he plays the famous warrior who battled courageously to protect India from the invader Muhammad of Ghor. As part of the promotions for the film, the filmmaker Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is visiting historic sites around India with the flag.

The film also stars Manushi Chhillar, Sonu Sood, and Sanjay Dutt, among others. The film will be released in theatres on June 3.
