Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release Box Office Day 6: The country is currently tracking the box office performance of Sanam Teri Kasam, which has re-released on the big screen and outperformed both fresh releases and re-releases, including Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. The film, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, originally released in 2016 and has been one of the most beloved films of the past decade. Due to overwhelming demand, it has returned to theaters and is now dominating the box office. Remarkably, the film has secured the second-biggest first Wednesday for any movie in 2025.
Sanam Teri Kasam Re-release Box Office Collection
Sanam Teri Kasam, directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao, initially opened with ₹1.25 crore in 2016 and had a lifetime collection of ₹9 crore. However, with its re-release, the film has already earned more than double its original lifetime earnings, showing an impressive trajectory.
According to Sacnilk, on day 6 (Wednesday), the film collected ₹2.75 crore at the Indian box office, following ₹2.85 crore on day 5 (Tuesday). This brings the total earnings to a staggering ₹23.60 crore. Additionally, it has secured the second-biggest first Wednesday collection of 2025, trailing only Sky Force, and surpassing Shahid Kapoor’s Deva, which earned ₹2.25 crore on its first Wednesday.
Is Sanam Teri Kasam 2 Happening?
As theaters fill up for the re-release, fans are eagerly anticipating a sequel. In Ratlam, some moviegoers mistakenly believed that Sanam Teri Kasam 2 had been released, only to find out it was the original film. So, is a sequel in the works? Yes! In September last year, actor Harshvardhan Rane and producer Deepak Mukut confirmed they are developing Sanam Teri Kasam 2. They even shared a picture of themselves posing with the script, captioning it:
"Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is officially happening! After the epic love story of the first film, we're back with more! Stay tuned for updates! #SanamTeriKasam2." However, there is no confirmation on whether Mawra Hocane will return. Since her character died in the first film and due to political tensions preventing Pakistani actors from working in Indian films, the female lead for the sequel is yet to be announced.
