Sanjay Kapoor’s upcoming series The Last Hour is a murder mystery with a paranormal twist. That alone is enough to pique the interest of the audience, so it’s a bonus that it’s got BAFTA-winner Asif Kapadia attached to it along with a cast featuring Raima Sen and Shahana Goswami.
The first teaser of the series, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 14, was unveiled on Wednesday and showed glimpses of the supernatural crime-thriller that is shot in a Himalayan town.
On the show’s upcoming debut, its writer and director Amit Kumar says, “I’m really thrilled that The Last Hour will be viewed by a truly global audience. Asif Kapadia and I have worked together since our film school days, and when the chance to collaborate on this idea together came up, we grabbed it. Together with Anupama Minz, my co-creator and co-writer, we have created a unique supernatural show that we feel confident will be enjoyed by the audiences.”
The Last Hour follows the story of a small town where a shaman joins a newly-transferred police officer to help track down a mysterious killer. Apart from Sanjay, Raima and Shahana, the series also has Karma Takapa, Shaylee Krishen, Robin Tamang and Mandakini Goswami in pivotal roles.
Amit also added that the entire cast has done a “splendid job of bringing the exciting narrative to life and the makers are delighted to present something fresh to the audience”.
