Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B released in theatres on November 17 and if trade reports are to be believed, the box office journey of the film has been slow. Released with over 70 paid premiere shows on November 16, the film has not garnered the desired footfalls in any of the markets its was released in, even though there was good buzz for Side A, especially after its OTT release. The team has not given up on promotions and today, they released a short promo video to drum up interest in the film.

In the video, Manu (Rakshit Shetty) is seen asking a young boy, to share his box of Sajjige (semolina halwa), a dish that he used to savour years ago when Priya (Rukmini Vasanth) made it for him. Sajjige was what she would bring him to jail too, and what he gave up on when he refused to face her anymore. The dish, in that sense, is special to Manu and he wastes no time in devouring it when the boy relents. It’s his mother’s special dish, after all. If you’ve not seen Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B yet, but have caught Side A, you may not know the boy or his mother, but Sajjige should strike a bell.

While Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A was about young Manu and Priya and the dreams they had of a life together, all of which were shattered when he takes a stupid decision in the hope of building a better future for them. In exchange for what he believes to be a tidy sum, Manu agrees to take the fall in a hit-and-run case involving his employer Shankre Gowda’s (Avinash) son. But soon after he’s behind bars and still under trial, Shankre Gowda dies, and his family fails to live up on his promise, leaving Manu to rot in jail. The accident, which had a fatality, gets Manu a 10-year sentence.

Side B, which is currently in its second week in theatres, picks up 10 years later, and explores how Manu comes to terms with how his decision has impacted Priya. What he does to rectify his mistake as best as he can is what the film is all about. Besides Rakshit and Rukmini, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Achyuth Kumar and Ramesh Indira return for Side B, while Chaithra J Achar has been introduced as Surabhi, a new character in Manu’s life.
