The two-part romance drama Sapta Saagaradaache Ello, directed by Hemanth Rao, started as a niche film in Kannada, but its popularity skyrocketed post its OTT release and the decent theatrical run of the Telugu version Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati (Side A). Now, the Telugu-dubbed version of the second part, Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati - Side B, will release on the same day as Kannada, November 17.
Ahead of its release in Telugu, actors Rakshit Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, Chaitra J Achar, and director Hemanth Rao came together for a media interaction in Hyderabad. The leading banner, People Media Factory, is releasing the film in Telugu states. Directors Anudeep and Srinivas Avasarala were the chief guests. The team shared interesting details about the second installment of the romance drama during the meet.
Addressing reports from Telugu audiences that the first part was slow, director Hemanth Rao admitted he received such feedback. “We did receive reports that it was slow but crowds liked it. There are two sides to the sea; it is serene but it can get rough too. The second part is racier; we didn’t make any changes to the final edit. It was locked much before. The shade of love in Side B will be different,” he said.
The filmmaker clearly stated that the story of Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati may not be new and that tales of hit-and-run cases are quite common. “I was a witness to a crime and it inspired me to write the story. With the romance, I wanted to celebrate little pleasures between a couple. There’s also so much to tell about what happens inside a jail — we can make an entirely new film out of it.”
Rukmini Vasanth, thanking Telugu crowds for the response to Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati - Side A, shared that Side B will have the same intensity as the first part but you’ll see the story from a different tangent. “It means a lot that the story of Manu and Priya has found a place in your hearts. 10 years later, their journey continues with more beautiful characters. I’ve grown immensely as an actor with the films,” she added.
Rakshit Shetty mentioned revenge will be a key aspect of Side B, but there’s more to the film beyond that. “The love story will take different turns this time. Telugu audiences have always encouraged me,” he averred. Srinivas Avasarala stated that the film elaborates on how you need to go past the seven seas to taste even the little joys in life while sharing a dialogue from his film Jyo Achyutananda.
