Actor-politician Sarath Kumar started the year with the super hit film Varisu and impressed the audience with his measured performance. He then went on to play the antagonist's role in Rudhran after which he aced the role of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar in a magnificent manner in Ponniyin Selvan 2.
2023 is turning out to be a great year for the actor with spell-binding performances in a few notable movies. As if these aren't enough, his latest movie Por Thozhil, in which he has played the lead role along with Ashok Selvan, has been garnering a unanimous positive response.
Now, makers of his forthcoming projects, The Smile Man and Samaran, are elated about the whodunit's success and have announced their respective projects' shooting updates. The former, helmed by Syam and Praveen, has been wrapped up and the team has released a picture featuring the cast and crew posing for a photo.
Sarath will be seen playing a cop in this movie as well which has been bankrolled by Salil Das, Anandhan T and Anish Haridasan. Gavaskar Avinash has composed music for the project which has cinematography by Vikram Mohan and story written by Kamala Alchemis.
On the other hand, Samaran, which has the senior actor sharing screen space with Vidharth, has completed its first schedule. Thirumalai Balasamy is directing the movie which is produced by Rosh Kumar of M360° Studios. The crew has been shooting in a few locations in Chennai and the film is billed as an action drama.
Nandha, Singam Puli, Siddique and Kumki Ashwin among others play important characters in the movie which revolves around the conflict between an army officer and an IAS officer. Kumar Sridhar handles cinematography while Ved Shankar Sugavanam is in charge of music.
