Sardaarji 3 was shot before the horrific Pahalgam Attack. The makers released the trailer for the film recently, and it showed Pakistani actress Hania Aamir along with Diljit Dosanjh, and this caused outrage online, drawing criticism. Hania's appearance in the trailer and Diljit's collaboration with her have angered the netizens, and they called Diljit 'insensitive' and 'shameless', amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Pakistani actress Hania Aamir is set to play a crucial role in Diljit Dosanjh's film, Sardaar Ji 3. The trailer shows glimpses of the actress and as soon as the trailer was out, netizens expressed their anger against Diljit for working with Hania amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Although the film was shot before the Pahalgam attack, Diljit's film trailer faced criticism when it was released. Also, Sardaar Ji 3 will not see a theatrical release in India. Instead, the film is set to release overseas on June 27. This decision was reportedly taken to avoid regulatory and public backlash.
Reacting to the trailer, an X user wrote, "Diljit Dosanjh's depravity to release a movie with Pakistani Hania Amir who called Operation Sindoor and India cowardly is purely sinister and sadistic. GOI should investigate this Kh*listani."
Another wrote, "This is such insensitive behaviour by #DiljitDosanjh & his team! While the Government of India has banned all Pakistani artists and their social media presence, Diljit has gone ahead and dropped a collaboration with #HaniaAamir through the song #SohniLagdi just a month after #OperationSindoor. 🇮🇳 On one hand, he’s taking a stand that goes against the sentiments of the nation 🇮🇳 , and on the other, he’s starring in a patriotic film like #Border2. What a hypocritical move."
Another comment read, "praying for diljit dosanjh’s downfall. empty theatres, only negative critics, super flop show, all his songs flop, all his concerts get rained on and get cancelled. may he suffer monetary loss."
For the unversed, after the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22nd, in which 26 Indian tourists were killed, Pakistani celebrities have been banned from working in India. Their social media accounts have also been banned and some of them include Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, and more.
Sardaar Ji 3 is the third installment in the Punjabi horror-comedy franchise, starring Diljit Dosanjh, and featuring Hania Aamir as his co-star. The film revolves around a ghost hunter (Dosanjh) who travels to the UK with his partner (Aamir) to exorcise a ghost from a mansion..
