Sarkeet, starring actor Asif Ali in the lead role, is now set for its digital debut almost four months after its theatrical debut. The streaming rights of the Malayalam film, helmed by Thamar KV, were bagged by Manorama Max. And now the platform has confirmed that Sarkeet will drop online on September 26, 2025.

The 2025 Malayalam Sarkeet released in theatres on May 8. Though Thamar KV’s film opened to positive feedback from critics, Sarkeet was not much of a crowd-puller at the cinemas. Sarkeet is now heading to Manorama Max on September 26, 2025, and the makers would be hopeful that the Asif Ali-starrer will win more appreciation and love that it deserved. Like other movies on the platform, Sarkeet will be available in Malayalam on Manorama Max with English subtitles.

Another Malayalam film, Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, had also made its OTT premiere on the platform recently. Actress Anaswara Rajan played the lead role in the film, which depicts the chaos at a middle-class family as they make preparations for a funeral.
What is the plot of Sarkeet
Sarkeet is led by Asif Ali, playing the youth Ameer, who reaches the Gulf on the lookout for a job and finally stand on his own. He comes across Jeppu, a hyperactive Malayali kid who is quite a handful for his parents to control. The bond between the unemployed youth and the kid is explored in this heartwarming movie, a poignant tale on human relationships.
Orhan Hyder plays the kid, while Divya Prabha and
Deepak Parambol appear as his parents Steffi and Balu. Remya Suresh and Prasanth Alexander are also part of this film.
This is director Thamar KV’s second film, after the noted 1001 Nunakal, which is also set in the Gulf and narrates the story of the Malayali diaspora.
