Tamil star Arya starts boxing training for director Pa Ranjith's next movie Sarpatta Parambarai 2.
Tamil star Arya has started hitting the gym to get into fighting shape for his upcoming movie Sarpatta Parambarai 2. He took to social media to share a glimpse of his workout routine as he prepares to step inside the boxing ring once again.
Arya can be seen doing pad work with his trainer. This type of training involves one person wearing focus mitts or pads while another person practices striking techniques on these pads. This type of training helps improve accuracy, speed, and technique for the person throwing the punches, kicks, or other striking movements.
Judging from the video, Arya seems to have improved his striking game to a whole new level.
In Sarpatta Parambarai, Arya plays a boxer from a humble background. Written and directed by Pa Ranjith, the movie was set against the backdrop of the 1970s. The film tried to shine the light on the fact that North Chennai, which later gained a notorious reputation, was a home for a vibrant boxing culture in the state.
As the country was still grappling with the pandemic in 2021, Sarpatta Parambarai was directly released on the streaming platform. And the film struck a chord with the audiences, emerging as the biggest critical hit of that year.
Set against the backdrop of boxing, Ranjith probed the myriad of issues that separate friends and families, keeping members of the underprivileged community from accessing better opportunities in life.
Sarpatta Parambarai also gave one of the biggest hits in Arya's career. And many felt that this movie deserved to be seen on the big screen.
At the moment, Sarpatta Parambarai 2 is still in pre-production as Ranjith is busy with the post-production work of his highly-anticipated movie Thangalaan.
Starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role, Thangalaan is a period drama set in colonial India. Dubbed as Ranjith's most ambitious movie, Thangalaan is expected to hit the screens soon.
