Selena Gomez gives a sneak peek of Only Murders in the Building; drops first teaser trailer

Selena Gomez is all pepped up to appear in a new Hulu originals murder mystery show, Only Murders in the Building. The singer has been spotted shooting for the murder mystery all around New York. On Tuesday, Gomez treated her fans with a shocking surprise when she announced the release date and dropped the teaser trailer of her upcoming series on her Instagram account.

The Hulu original is co-created by Black Panther actor Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Apart from acting, Selena is also bankrolling the project.

She will be seen joining the cast alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short and Aaron Dominguez. The show will be a ten-episode series. As seen in the trailer, the story follows three strangers (Martin, Short and Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves involved in solving the mysterious death of their neighbour. The comedy murder mystery premieres on Aug 31, on the streaming platform Hulu.

On the music front, in an interview given to Vogue in March, Gomez expressed about taking a break from music. She questioned, “It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously. I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?”

She had also expressed the desire to try one more time just for her fans, who are also known as Selenators. Selena Gomez’s latest song Boyfriend released in 2020 which was a part of her album Rare.

The actress-singer also has Hotel Transylvania: Transformania and In the Shadow of the Mountain in her kitty.
