Selfiee first look: 'Superstar' Akshay Kumar and 'superfan' Emraan Hashmi lock horns in the latest poster

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi have finally taken to their social media pages to share the first look at their upcoming film, Selfiee. The film is the Hindi remake of the hit Malayalam film, Driving License, which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. Selfiee is directed by Raj Mehta, and the first look features Akshay and Emraan locking horns. The poster gives a glimpse into the fact that Khiladi Kumar is playing the role of a superstar, while Hashmi has donned a cop uniform.

While sharing the poster, Akshay Emraan captioned his post, "Fans make a star. Fans can also break a star! Find out what happens when a fan turns against his idol. Watch #Selfiee in cinemas on Feb 24th."

Emraan wrote, "Ek Superstar, Ek Superfan. Yeh jodi hai ya rivalry? Jaaniye #Selfiee mein, releasing in cinemas on 24th Feb."

Selfiee also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty in pivotal roles.

A rendition of the 1994 song "Main Khiladi Tu Anari" by Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan from the movie of the same name will appear in Selfiee. Akshay and Emraan will appear in the new version.

While talking about producing Selfiee, Prithviraj had earlier said that working on this movie was a unique endeavour for him. The actor knew it would be extremely challenging for him to portray actor Hareendran, but he was willing to take a chance, and he's so pleased he did. Prithviraj is overjoyed that a Hindi version of the film is in the works, and he's moved by the worldwide outpouring of support from his supporters.

Speaking about the plot of Driving License, Superstar Hareendran (Prithviraj) is renowned for his driving prowess and obsession with automobiles. The town's motor vehicle inspector, Kuruvilla Joseph (Suraj), is a devoted fan of Hareendran. Hareendran realises that his licence, which is required to finish filming his most recent project, is absent. Hareendran visits Kuruvilla, his biggest admirer, to hurriedly obtain a new licence.

Selfiee will be released on February 24, 2023.
