Sex Education is one of the most followed shows on Netflix. While fans are eagerly waiting for the fourth season comedy drama, it does not look like the show will get a January 2022 release.
There were many speculations since the announcement of a fourth season, that it would come out in January 2022, with both the first two seasons of the show having been released in January. But season 4 of Sex Education is not scheduled to drop in January 2022.
Netflix confirmed season four a week after the much awaited release of the third season in September. While there was no official talk about a release date, fans were quick to assume a release date. But with the ongoing pandemic, it is understandable how things could get dragged back.
While the first two seasons of the show were released in January, the latest the Mooredale folk can return to screens is by September 2022. However, that too is in doubt with rising numbers in COVID cases around the world.
Even a September timeline seems unrealistic, with reports suggesting that filming will start some time between April 2022 and November 2022. Though it is disappointing, the most realistic release date that can be assumed is some time in 2023.
Sex Education follows the student, parents and teachers of the fictional Moordale Secondary School, as they explore their life and sexual intimacies.
The show stars Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Alistair Petrie, Mimi Keene, and Aimee Lou Wood. All three seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
