Shahid Kapoor and Ali Abbas Zafar team up for 'mad ride of guns and gangs', share photo from the sets

Shahid Kapoor and Ali Abbas Zafar have finally kickstarted the shoot of their first outing together. Touted to be the Hindi remake of the French film Nuit Blanche, which was released in 2011, both the actor and the filmmaker took to their social media pages and made the announcement. Shahid and Ali shared a candid click wherein they are seen twinning in black and standing against the backdrop of the sea. 

While sharing the photo, the Sultan director captioned it as "Let’s get this started @shahidkapoor. Are you ready for a crazy, quirky, mad ride of guns and gangs."

Whereas Shahid posted the same photo on his Instagram story and wrote, "Day 1. Blood, crime, and lots of action. Here we go... @aliabbaszafar better get your game face on. "

Jio Studios presents Zafar's untitled next, a stylized action-packed journey starring Kapoor, in conjunction with AAZ Films, Offside Entertainment, and The Vermillion World.

Shooting began today in the UAE for the film produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar, Sunir Kheterpal, and Gaurav Bose.

Talking about Nuit Blanche, the film is about a cop and his partner who are caught taking cocaine from a powerful drug dealer. This move puts his son's life in peril, and with a link to the criminal underworld, he has his secret existence exposed.

Frédéric Jardin directed the French film, which he co-wrote with Nicolas Saada. The 2011 film features Tomer Sisley, Adel Bencherif, Julien Boisselier, Serge Riaboukine, and Pom Klementieff in important roles.

Meanwhile, regarding Zafar's directorial, the makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast. 

Speaking of Shahid, the actor will next be seen in Jersey, which has finally got a release date. The Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name is hitting the big screens on December 31, 2021.

Moreover, Shahid is also making his OTT debut with an Amazon Prime Video series created by Raj and DK. The much-awaited show also features Vijay Sethupathi and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles. The series is likely to stream in 2022.
