The Hollywood actress will play the female lead opposite Jack Whitehall in Robots

The Fault in Our Stars actor Shailene Woodley will star alongside Jack Whitehall in the upcoming comedy-drama Robots. Co-written by Borat’s writer Anthony Hines, the film tells the story of a casanova and a gold digger, who are obligated to team up and learn human ethics.
Emma Roberts was initially attached to play the lead actress in the Anthony Hines and Casper Christensen directorial, according to The Hollywood Reporter. On roping in Shailene for the movie, Anthony said in a statement, “At a time when comedies are needed more than ever, I couldn’t be more delighted than to have Shailene and Jack team up to play the leads in this movie.”
The actress appeared as Hazel Grace Lancaster in the 2018 movie version of John Green’s famous novel The Fault in Our Stars opposite Ansel Elgort. Shailene also played Tris opposite Theo James in The Divergent Series, which also has Ansel with Ashley Judd, Jai Courtney, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Tony Goldwyn, Maggie Q and Kate Winslet among others.
The actress recently appeared in The Mauritanian with Jodie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch and will soon be seen in an upcoming thriller titled Misanthrope. Her next release will be the Netflix film, The Last Letter from Your Lover, that also has Callum Turner.
