Shaakunthalam: Dil Raju blocks February 17th, producers unhappy once again

Dil Raju is one of the biggest producers in the south and has made over 50 films in his career. A few days back, he was embroiled in a controversy of blocking multiple theaters for his new Tamil film Varisu which will also be dubbed in Telugu. Dil Raju was trolled a lot for his double standards. But he changed his mind and postponed the Telugu release from the 11th to the 14th of this month.

Looks like Dil Raju has landed himself in trouble once again as his new film as a co-producer, Shaakunthalam is all set to release on the 17th of February which also happens to be the release date of three other noted films in Telugu. The films in the discussion are Vishwaksen’s Dhamki, Haarika & Haasini’s Sir, and Geetha Arts’ Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha which have locked February 17th as their release date.

One of the producers of these films is upset with Dil Raju for blocking this date for the Samantha starrer. Dil Raju did not announce the release date earlier and now that he has, the teams of these films are nervous and feel that Dil Raju will once again eat away all the theaters in both the Telugu states.

Samantha is a big star in India now and naturally, her film will draw a lot of attention. Some industry insiders say that the makers of these films are in discussions to change the release date. Some want to hold discussions with Dil Raju and see what can be done with the release dates. Whatever was said and done, Dil Raju bent down to pressure from mega producers and changed the date but will he do that with medium-budget films, let's wait and watch.
