Shamshera: Ranbir Kapoor opens up about his bond with Karan Johar, says, ‘He always has right advice for you’

Ranbir Kapoor is making headlines all over the Internet with the announcement of his and his wife Alia Bhatt's pregnancy. Ranbir, who is also working on his forthcoming film Shamshera, recently opened up about his friendship with filmmaker and producer Karan Johar.

When asked if Karan is a better mentor or director, Ranbir told Mashable India that he thinks Karan is a better friend. He said: "Well, I think he's a better friend and not just to me, I've seen how he's maintained relationships with so many people from the film industry and it's tough."

Later, the Tamasha actor elaborated on Karan's ability to maintain relationships with everyone despite busy work schedules. Saying that the industry is huge, making it difficult to maintain relationship with everyone, he said Karan is not like him who prefers a close circle. He said, “But Karan's not like that, you have a problem even at three in the morning, you want to show him what to wear at the airport. You want to take his advice on a movie, you want to take his advice on a controversy or anything, he always has the right advice to give you."

Ranbir afterwards made fun of his friend by commenting on his fashion choices. According to him, Karan is going through a mid-life crisis, and that is why he is now more into hip-hop.

Ranbir is now rehearsing for his forthcoming film Shamshera, which also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vani Kapoor. On July 22, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

On the other hand, he recently wrapped filming in Spain for the Luv Ranjan flick, in which he co-stars with Shraddha Kapoor for the first time. He is also getting ready for his forthcoming film Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukherji. This will also be Alia and Ranbir's debut appearance together. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni and it will be released on September 9, 2022.
