The executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited has invested Rs 10 crore in 25 startups

Namita Thapar, one of the sharks on Shark Tank India, the business reality show on SonyLIV is a popular businesswoman in the country. Though the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited has shied away from investing in several startups on the show, saying, "Ye meri expertise nahi hai, I am out," she has put in her money for 25 ventures. The entrepreneur has invested Rs 10 crore in total on the show for these businesses. According to startuptalking, Thapar has invested in Bummer, Skippi Pops, Menstrupedia, Altor, Nuutjob, Farda, Auli Lifestyle, Annie, The Renal Project, Cocofit, Beyond Water, Find Your Kicks India, Aas Vidyalaya, WeSTOCK, InACan, Sunfox Technologies (Spandan), Rare Planet, Watt Technovations, Wakao Foods, Kabaddi Adda, Colour Me Mad, Nomad Food Project, TagZ Foods, Sneakare and Store My Goods.

Bummer
This is reportedly the first startup that Thapar has invested in. It claims to offer underwear for men and women, made with the softest fabric possible. Thapar invested Rs 37.5 lakh for 3.75% equity.
Skippi Pops
Owned by Kabra Global Products Pvt Ltd., it claims to offer 100% natural ice pops, made with all-natural colours, preservatives and sweeteners. It is India's first Ice Pop brand. The startup attracted all sharks and got investments from all of them, including from Thapar, who invested Rs 20 lakh for 3% equity.
Menstrupedia
Started by Aditi Gupta and Tuhin Paul, the company creates comics to spread awareness about menstrual health. Thapar invested Rs 50 lakh for 20% equity.
Altor
A smart helmet, Altor offers protection and features like Google Assistant, Bluetooth connectivity, and audio navigation. Thapar made a deal of Rs 25 lakh for 3.5% equity in the company, founded by a team of fresh graduates.
Nuutjob
A men's intimate hygiene company, it tries to break the taboo in India. It was started by two sisters from Ahmedabad. Thapar paid Rs 8.33 lakh in exchange for 6.66% equity in the company.
Farda
It is a customised denim company that offers designer clothes, which can be altered as per the preferences and requirements of the customer. The company was founded by Chahat Pahuja and Sanskar Mishra. Thapar made an offer of Rs 15 lakh for 10% equity in the company.
Auli Lifestyle
Auli Lifestyle manufactures Ayurvedic products for skincare. It is founded by Aishwarya Biswas. Thapar was impressed by the company and she decided to lock in the deal by investing what Biswas had demanded. She invested Rs 75 lakh for a 15% share in the company.
Annie
A product of Thinker Bell Labs, it is also backed by Anand Mahindra. Four college friends founded the company that offers self-learning braille literacy devices. The team had pitched their idea on the show with the help of a visually-impaired child and this attracted all the sharks to invest in the company. Namita backed it too by investing Rs 35 lakh for 1% equity.
The Renal Project
The company helps patients, who require dialysis with its home and in-centre dialysis services. The founder approached the sharks demanding Rs 1 crore but Thapar made a deal of Rs 50 lakh for 3% equity.
Cocofit
A franchise business, it deals with coconut-based beverages. They demanded Rs 5 for 5% equity. Though all sharks were impressed by the product, only three invested in the company. Thapar offered Rs 1.67 for a share of 1.67% in the company.
Beyond Water
It is India's first liquid enhancer. It adds more taste and colour to make the drink more fun and healthy. Thapar backed the company and made a deal of Rs 37.5 lakhs for a 7.5% share in the company.
Find Your Kicks India
The company got an 'all sharks deal'. The company buys, sells and trades top brands and limited edition sneakers. Thapar invested Rs 10 lakh for 5% equity.
Aas Vidyalaya
The Edtech company focuses on rural education. It is an ‘Anywhere Anytime’ online school, which follows NCERT guidelines. It won the heart of Thapar and she put in Rs 50 lakh for 5% ownership in the company.
Nomad Food Project
The company makes and delivers bacon-related jams and other relishes. The startup has already gained quite some popularity with its unique creations. Thapar invested Rs 10 lakh for 5% equity.
TagZ Foods
This is one of the very few startups from Bengaluru that was shortlisted on the show, despite the city being popularly known for its startup culture. TagZ Foods uses an innovative technique to produce potato chips and claims to offer products with 50% less fat as they neither fry nor bake the potatoes. Both Ashneer and Namita invested in the company. However, the deal they finalised was not disclosed on the show.
